COVID-19 Symptoms vs Seasonal Allergies


Seasonal allergies and COVID-19 share many similar symptoms. If your child regularly exhibits seasonal allergy
symptoms talk with your doctor to understand when it might be common allergies and when it might be a cold
or COVID-19. See additional symptom comparisons on the following page.

  • Muscle and body aches
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Cough
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing*
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Itchy or watery eyes
  • Sneezing

*Season allergies do not usually cause shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, unless a person has a respiratory condition such as asthma that can be triggered by exposure to pollen.
