Good Morning Washington Local,
Welcome back! We are just 17 days away from hitting the halfway mark in our school year! We hope your Thanksgiving holiday included time to enjoy your family and also a time to rest.
We are embarking on the winter sports season and our goal is that this is a full winter season for the first time in three years. We are strongly encouraging all guests at sporting events to wear masks and certainly asking you to stay home if you are not feeling well. Our student-athletes really want a full season and the best way to protect everyone is to stay healthy. Attending sporting events is a choice. Unlike school attendance, students and fans can choose to attend. We will not require masks at indoor events unless there is an increase in positive cases that compels us to do so. Please plan accordingly.
Next Monday night, December 6, we will kick off live music concerts at Music Night Under the Stadium Lights at 6:30 PM in Whitmer Stadium. We hope you will join us for a sing-a-long and hot cocoa sponsored by the Washington Local Schools Foundation. You'll definitely leave in the holiday spirit!
Check the website for a lineup of concerts over the weeks leading up to Winter Break. We will continue to require masks at all indoor concerts until further notice.
Last night Hanukkah began--the Festival of Lights. In these days ahead, let's all remember that it takes just a little bit of light to dispel a lot of darkness.
