Superintendent's Update - October 26, 2021

NOTE: This is a repeat of the update from Monday, October 25. The link to the form now accepts all email addresses not just student addresses.

Good afternoon,

In the next week, we expect the FDA to approve vaccines for children ages 5-11 years old. The Lucas County Health Department is determining where they will hold in-person clinics by the demand for vaccines in each district. Some districts may be combined and there will also be availability at the Lucas County Recreation Center on Saturdays. We anticipate these clinics will take place in the evening.

If you plan to have your child vaccinated, could you please click this link and indicate the number of 5-11 year old children in your household you would like vaccinated. This does not commit you in any way, but gives the Health Department an indication of whether a clinic should be held at Washington Local Schools.

Also, we are aware of guidance from the Ohio Department of Health on changes that districts can make to quarantines as they relate to school exposure. Washington Local will release a statement on Thursday evening after we receive written guidance and also have a chance to confer with area districts and the Toledo Lucas County Health Department.
