Superintendent's Update - October 4, 2021

Good Morning Washington Local,

One of the best perks of living in the Midwest is fall. We are excited for October because so many of our Washington Local Schools traditions are returning -- even if they look just a little different than before. This month will see the return of the Candlelight Walk, Pumpkin Runs, Trunk or Treats, Tournaments and Playoffs, and so many other great traditions.

We are hoping for a BIG home crowd at Central Catholic High School this Friday, October 8th to cheer on our Panthers. It's a white-out (Penn State style) so find your favorite white Whitmer shirt and we will see you at the game. All tickets are sold online, so watch our social media for the link.

Thank you to all who responded so positively and have applied for sub positions. We need subs in almost every area. Like so many businesses in our area and around the country, we are experiencing staffing challenges. Our Washington Local staff is second to none, but when they need to be out for a day or two it's great to have our local community members step up to the plate to help. A better understanding is often just what is needed. In some jobs, the work can be left for the next day. At Washington Local, our kids are here counting on us each and every day and we want to be here for them providing a safe place to learn.

Have a great week! Stay well.
