Individuals who will have unsupervised access to a child
You WILL need a background check if you:
- Will be working with students while not in the presence of a Washington Local certified employee
- Volunteer to work individually or with groups of students on school property
- Attend school field trips, band camps, etc.
You WILL NOT need a background check if you:
- Are in the presence of a Washington Local certified staff member while with students
- Volunteer to help with a class party or other one-time event
- Sell tickets at a school event (athletics, drama, etc.)
- Volunteer in the office while working with an employee (not supervising children)
- Make copies or perform duties/special projects for the school while working directly with an employee (not supervising children)
